  2022-01-04

A number of synthetic GPR119 agonists have been reported to date, several of which have advanced into clinical trials. Reported GPR119 agonists are often composed of three parts as depicted in : a piperidine or a piperazine ring -substituted with a carbamate or a heteroaryl group at the right side,

  2022-01-04

For molecules with potential for therapeutic use, high potency is desired, preferably in the nM or lower concentration range. However, the glycine receptor specific peptides identified with the New England Biolabs Ph.D. libraries, both in this study (Fig. 3) and by Tipps et al. (2010), acted at low

Finally, the results in this article indicate that atomistic MD in conjunction with computational electrophysiology and ion-permeation simulations provide a useful tool for the functional annotation of ion-channel structures. In particular, they exemplify how MD simulations in native lipid membranes

The concept of the axo-myelin ‘synapse’ Axons can release glutamate in a Ca+-dependent and independent manner (reviewed in [13,69]). Glutamate released from axons activates GluRs located in myelin, a feature that gave rise to the idea of the axo-myelin ‘synapse’ by analogy with classical synaptic

Subsequently, we decided to test whether the orexin pathway was involved (Delhanty et al, 2012, Delhanty et al, 2013, Pei et al, 2014). Orexin neuronal systems are known to control limbic and neocortical structures (Bonnavion, de Lecea, 2010, Sakurai, 2007). Orexin receptors and possibly orexin synt

  2022-01-04

GSMs γ-Secretase cleavage of APP generates a number of Aβ peptides [32], [137]. In most cells Aβ1–37, 38, 39, and 42 are produced at low levels (typically each represents 5–20% of total Aβ detected) and the major species generated is Aβ1–40 (typically over 50% of total Aβ). Other Aβ peptides can

Significance Metabolites present in the extracellular environment can potently modulate cellular phenotypes and potentially serve as therapeutics for various diseases. Ferroptosis is a non-apoptotic cell death process characterized by the generation of toxic lipid reactive oxygen species (ROS). I

The present findings demonstrate for the first time in immature rats that hippocampal infusion of ET-1 results in a rapid and long-lasting decrease in regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) and oxygen saturation (pO2). These data are in accord with the results of studies and adult animals, which have s

Methods The study was a cross-sectional, ecological analysis of country-reported HIV expenditures. We obtained the most recent available and validated data on annual country-reported HIV expenditures in SSA countries between 2012 and 2017 from the UNAIDS (http://aidsinfo.unaids.org/). Many countr

Since we found miR-15b-5p to be differentially expressed along the porcine intestine in 31 day old piglets in a former study [10], the entire miRNA family was analyzed in terms of interaction with potential target-genes. In silico analysis predicted miR-15 family members to target the hedgehog signa
